Tan Lemon It looks like he’s trying to push himself out of the spotlight amid all the furor … because TMZ has learned he’s backed out of an upcoming event.
Dan was scheduled to host an event Tuesday in NYC about all things race and real estate in honor of Black History Month.

We’re told Dan was worried about his ongoing news coverage overshadowing the event, and our sources say Douglas Elliman’s event coordinators agreed … so he bowed out.
