Central Banks: Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey, European Central Bank Executive Board member Gabriel Maclouffe, Bank of Ireland Chief Executive Miles O’Grady and Bank of Italy Deputy Governor Alessandra Berracelli are scheduled to speak at the Irish central bank conference. Interest rates have either fallen or not. They will be joined by Aviva Chief Executive Amanda Blank.

Economic Indicators: The European Union releases eurozone retail sales figures, while inflation rate data is expected for Germany.

Company Results: Upgrades are expected from aerospace giant Airbus, retailer Adidas, lenders Commerzbank and Credit Agricole and UK retailer Marks & Spencer. Markets will be watching closely for signs of a strain or benefit in the balance sheet due to the twin impact of inflation and interest rates.
