The Baltimore Bridge collapsed
Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge was struck by a freighter and collapsed, sending at least eight construction workers into the water. Two people have been rescued and the remaining six are presumed dead, officials said. Follow live updates and see photos from the scene.
How it happened: Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) said the container ship lost power shortly before it hit the bridge. The video shows the bridge collapsing within 40 seconds.
Victims: Divers recovered the bodies of two dead construction workers and found other vehicles trapped, possibly with victims, officials said. They are fathers, husbands and hard workers. All crew members on board the container ship Dally survived. First responders stopped most of the traffic on the four-lane bridge after crews issued an emergency 911 call. It saved lives, Moore said.
