Custer County officials Hanmey K. Clark was named as a suspect in the shooting.

Authorities in Custer County, Colorado, were searching for a suspect in a shooting late Monday that left three people dead and one in critical condition, officials said.

A dispute over property on Rocky Ridge Road may have led to the shooting “at the property line in a wooded area,” according to a release from the Custer County Government Public Information Office.

Hanme K. Custer County authorities named Clark as a suspect.

“The suspect was driving a white Ram 1500 pickup with a Topper, Colorado license plate: BHLK27,” officials said.

Authorities said law enforcement responded to a report of shots fired around 1 p.m. Monday. A local SWAT team responded about 20 minutes later.

Three people — two men and a woman — were shot and killed, the law enforcement agency said. Another woman who was shot is in critical condition but is expected to survive, county officials said.

“Custer County Sheriff, Rich Smith, requested shelter in place while they searched for the suspect,” officials said.

That stay-at-home order was lifted around 8 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
