The AT&T and Verizon outage that cut off phone calls is over

AT&T and Verizon Fixed a crash This caused phone calls to drop across the US. The issue affected calls between customers of the two services.

Amidst the outage, AT&T spokesman Jim Kimberly said on the edge, “Our network has not experienced a nationwide outage. There is a nationwide issue affecting some customers’ ability to complete calls between carriers. We are working closely with Verizon to determine the nature of the issue and what actions should be taken.

Verizon spokesman Kevin H. King said the network is “operating normally,” but customers primarily in the Northeast and Midwest are experiencing issues “when calling or texting customers served by another carrier.”

We still don’t know exactly when the outage started or what caused it. Verizon And AT&T The charts on Downdetector suggest that problems may have started around 2PM ET and will resolve around 8PM ET.

The Federal Communications Commission also looked into the issue. “We are aware of reports that consumers in several states are unable to make wireless calls, and we are currently investigating,” the FCC wrote. A post on X.

In February, a major AT&T outage knocked out service for thousands of customers across the country. The carrier later apologized for the outage and issued a $5 credit to affected customers.
