2024 Democratic National Convention It will conclude with presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech in Chicago, four weeks after President Joe Biden suspended his campaign and Harris ascended to the top of the Democratic Party.
The political shift in the months ahead of an election showdown with Republican nominee former President Donald Trump typically marks a quick succession of changes in Democrats’ 2024 calculus — making the convention all the more significant.
The largely ceremonial vote at the Chicago convention will mark the party’s coming together on a single vision for the next four years.
Harris has generally spoken about supporting the main goals of the Biden administration, which have been more or less endorsed on the platform as written.
Harris laid out a string of new economic proposals last week, but has not released a detailed list of his policy positions since becoming the top Democrat. His campaign aides have suggested he no longer adhere to some of the liberal positions he took during his first run for president in 2020, including supporting a ban on hydraulic fracturing.
When can viewers watch Harris’ acceptance speech live?
